A RassKuzik about "rare" names

Many people tried to talk Polina and me out of naming our son Dobrynya — what if he won't be able to pronounce his "R" for a long time, and it's not clear what affectionate pet name to call him: "Dobrusha", "Dobrynka"??? But the main thing, they frightened us that he'd be teased. Whether that's true, nobody can say. All these "scare stories" didn't frighten us; we named our little son Dobrynya, just as we'd wanted. And we were also greatly amused by the following story, told by an acquaintance. Some friends of hers have a little son of about 3 — Emelyan (Emelya for short). The parents sent the little chap to nursery, and after some time asked the teacher whether the other children teased him for his unusual name. The teacher, with a snort: — HA! And who exactly is going to tease him? Frol, Foma, Yepifan or Kallistrat?
